MOVIE RECOMMENDATIONS (& SNACKS TO GO WITH THEM)

Some days we want to wear our best, go out and set the world on fire. Other days we find it hard to even get up from the bed.

Every once in a while, we are sure you feel the urge to stay in, just lay down and watch a movie that resonates with your current mood.

A tasty, comforting movies munch sort of completes the dream. Doesn’t it?

For those long, lazy weekends we have compiled a list of hand-picked movies and some mouth watering snacks that go with them like wine & cheese, black & white, Batman & Robin, Holmes & Watson, catch the drift?

Mood : Light adrenaline rush Movie: Death on the Nile

This slow paced, murder mystery that features the legendary detective Hercule Poirot will keep you hooked till the end.

If you are familiar with Agatha Christie’s Poirot, then there is no more to say, but, if you are not, then you are in for an artistic treat! With well etched characters, enthralling locations and a gripping story, this one is def- initely going to leave you with “a day well spent” feeling.

Where to watch : Disney Hotstar Genre : Mystery/Crime ‧ 2h 7m

Cast : Kenneth Branagh, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Tom Bateman, Sophie Okonedo, Russell Brand

Snack : Balance the surprise element of the movie with the sweet and scrumptious berry cherry mix

Mood : Uplifting rom-com Movie: Palm Springs

Be warned, Palm Springs is not your regular tear-jerker (scroll down for that recommendation). It is a movie that will make you want to get up from your bed (that is the first step) and reinstate your belief in life.

A romantic comedy with a twist, it is full of funny moments, sweet ones and some definitely relatable ones. Where to watch : Netflix

Genre : Sci-fi/Fantasy ‧ 1h 30m

Cast : Andy Samberg, Cristin Milioti, Camila Mendes, Tyler Hoechlin

Snack : You will love this sriracha spiced edamame trail mix that matches the feistiness of the movie!

Mood : My kids won’t leave me alone Movie: The Adam project (PG-13)

The Adam Project is like a really long, super fun rollercoaster ride. The best part is that your kids can sit with you!

Interesting storyline, laugh out loud moments and action packed sequences make this a perfect family (or alone) weekend watch.

Where to watch : Netflix

Genre : Sci-fi/Adventure ‧ 1h 46m

Cast : Ryan Reynolds, Walker Scobell, Zoe Saldaña, Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener

Snack : The “can’t look away” scenes call for a near perfect snack like this trail mix, that can be enjoyed by both you and your kids!

Mood : Something different, thought-provoking Movie: Four to Dinner (Italian)

If you believe that things are either black or white then this one’s not for you. Four to dinner revolves around 2 couples that pair up in different combinations with their stories running in parallel.

This Italian movie can be thoroughly enjoyed if you keep your mind open. Not your regular, run-of-the-mill rom com, Four to Dinner hits different.

It will definitely make you think about love, soulmates and about possibilities. Where to watch : Netflix

Genre : Romance/Comedy ‧ 1h 30m

Cast : Giuseppe Maggio, Matilde Gioli, Ilenia Pastorelli, Matteo Martari

Snack : An Italian flick needs an Italian snack (sort of), so Oregano cashews will be the perfect accompaniment. Doesn’t hurt that they are absolutely delicious!

Mood : Super chill Superhero

Movie: Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings

Shang-Chi will make you laugh so hard, you’ll forget all your worries. Really.

An absolutely refreshing super hero movie, whether you watch it for its solid storyline, the incredible visual effects, or for the mesmerising cinematography, Shang-Chi is bound to leave you spellbound.

Where to watch : Disney Hotstar

Genre : Action/Fantasy ‧ 2h 12m

Cast : Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Michelle Yeoh, Meng'er Zhang, Ben Kingsley

Snack : Shang-Chi deserves nothing less than a power packed, lip-smacking snack, so, 4 o' clock nut munch it is!

Mood : Hard hitting, Thriller Movie: The Courier

Based on a true story, The Courier traces the events that helped prevent a nuclear war between the USSR and USA.

This historical drama, set in the early 1960s, will leave you on the edge of your seat, with the suspense building up with each passing second.

Benedict Cumberbatch is brilliant as always, and so is Merab Ninidze with his subtle yet memorable per- formance.

Where to watch : Prime Video Genre : Thriller/Drama ‧ 1h 51m

Cast : Benedict Cumberbatch, Merab Ninidze, Rachel Brosnahan, Jessie Buckley, Angus Wright

Snack : A gritty snack for this gritty movie, we recommend the addictive-in-a-good-way, sea salt caramel almonds! So so good.

Mood : Feel like crying but don’t want to be sad Movie: About Time

There are things in this world that one can never be sure of. But there is one thing that we are absolutely sure of, that About Time will not disappoint.

Even if it doesn’t become your favourite (it’s definitely ours), it will definitely be liked. There is actually a very slim chance that it won’t be liked. So, don’t take our word for it, watch it and tell us how you find it!

That’s all we are going to say about this one. If you haven’t seen it, it’s about time you did. Where to watch : Prime Video

Genre : Romance/Fantasy ‧ 2h 3m

Cast : Rachel McAdams, Domhnall Gleeson, Bill Nighy, Lydia Wilson, Lindsay Duncan, Margot Robbie

Snack : For our favourite flick we have picked our favourite snack for you - Thai sweet chilli cashews. Just the right amount of sweet and spicy, like About Time.
